Another Textile Designer Obsessed with William Morris

I stumbled across the Wiliam Morris Gallery in Walthamstow a few months ago, and it has reignited my love for pattern design. The Arts and Crafts movement is so important for British heritage, which has only been reminded by my return to the UK. There is so much history here it makes me giddy. As I find my way back to the “UK creative scene”, I feel almost like an outsider looking in. Instead of finding William Morris as old and traditional, instead I find myself appreciating the value he contributed to society. Not just as a designer but on a social level too.

It was really wonderful getting to see his original design sketches and paintings, along with the intricate wood blocks. Next plan is to visit the Red House!
